Kristen Geary


Kristen is the Owner/ Director of Fierce Dance Academy. She has been training in dance for 17 years and has been teaching dance for 12 years at several different locations throughout Massachusetts. Kristen began her dance training primarily in gymnastics and continued to expand her dance repertoire. She is trained in Acrobatics, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Lyrical, and is also skilled in other genres including Ballet, Pointe, and Tap. As a dancer, Kristen has been seen performing at many events and competitions across Massachusetts and Rhode Island, competing in both group and solo entries. In 2009, she received the opportunity to perform at Disney World for the Disney Magical Music Days where she danced in downtown Disney. While performing is a great joy for Kristen, her greatest passion is teaching dance. Kristen has had the opportunity to work with several of her instructors, many of which have shaped her teaching experience and added to her passion as a student apprentice instructor. In addition to her tenure as being a student apprentice instructor, Kristen has since been teaching as a full-time dance instructor for 10 years. Teaching has presented Kristen with many opportunities to showcase her choreography at different venues and competitions across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. She has won many notable choreography awards at competitions, including the High Intensity Award and several others. In addition to teaching dance, Kristen has held many different positions and comes with several years of experience of being a studio manager. Her role consisted of assisting and overseeing all aspects of daily studio operations. Kristen is excited to continue teaching and sharing her love of dance and debut her first year as Owner and Director of Fierce Dance Academy.

Erica Gagne


Erica is a graduate of Lesley University where she received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Dance/Movement Therapy. Erica also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Dance from Dean College, where she spent 4 years rigorously training and performing in classical styles of dance including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Modern techniques and Hip Hop. She has been training in dance for 22 years and has been teaching dance for 8 years at different locations in Massachusetts. Erica is trained in many genres of dance including Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern, Acrobatics, and Irish Step. She has studied under many notable teachers in her years of dance, including Gregory King (Horton), Donalin Foreman (Graham), Laura Young, (Ballet), Shura Baryshnikov (Contemporary), Todd Shanks (Jazz), Jean Wenzel (Tap), Ricardo Foster (Hip Hop), and more. As well as technique classes, Erica is also trained in subjects such as Psychology, Dance/Movement Therapy, Laban Movement Analysis, Dance Composition, Pedagogy of Dance, Dance History, Creative Movement, and Film Survey in Dance. Erica regularly attends master classes and workshops including Dance Teacher's Club of Boston and Dance Teacher Live. Through her passion, Erica has had the opportunity to perform and choreograph various styles of dance in different venues across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Although performing is a great joy for Erica, she enjoys teaching and working with children. She is currently a registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT) and is a candidate for her Massachusetts License in Mental Health Counseling (LMHC). Erica is excited to continue her journey in dance not only through teaching but also incorporating movement and the expressive arts with children and families in therapeutic settings. Recently, she has had the opportunity to work with children and families at Hasbro Children’s Hospital creating and facilitating Dance/Movement Therapy sessions and group therapy sessions. She loves teaching and sharing her experience with her students. Erica is excited to join the dance facility at Studio Life Performing Art and share her experience and love of dance with her students.

Ashley Clark


Ashley has been dancing for 14.5 yrs. She is currently a Junior at GNB-Voc Tech where she majors in Fashion Trade. She enjoys theatre and has been in four musicals at her high school.  Ashley is our baby and musical theater instructor. She also is continuing her dancing taking dance classes.

Jessica Fontaine

Jessica has been dancing since the age of 2, and has been teaching for the past sixteen years. She has studied under many well known dance instructors such as Many Moore, Diane Gudat, Heidi Henderson and Tom Ralabate. Jessica earned her degrees in Dance and Education from Roger Williams University and is a 2006 graduate of the Boston Dance Teacher Training Program. She has taught the Arts Enrichment Programs at many schools in Rhode Island. She has also won numerous choreography and performance awards at the regional and national levels.

Susan Young

Ballroom Instructor

Sue's passion for dance started at just 6 years of age when her Mom signed her up for dance classes in Stafford Springs, CT. Marjorie Seraphim, her very first instructor, laid the groundwork for what would become a life long love of the art of dance. Dancing through her childhood and into her adult years Sue has studied under a diversified group of instructors and is experienced in ballet, jazz, tap, Irish Step, Latin, swing & ballroom.

"Dancing The Dream" certainly sums up my feelings each time I experience an opportunity to share & teach an individual, a couple, or a class full of people. For the past several years Sue has taught private lessons & group classes in Latin and ballroom dance following her studies under the direction of Master Teacher, Helle Rusholt Yi, in the DVIDA syllabus.

Samuel Shuman


Mr. Sam has been dancing for 15 yrs. He was accepted into the Honors Mathematics Program at Northeastern University where he plans to major in mathematics and minor in dance. This past year Sam won 3 competitive titles: Mr. Diva, Mr. Legacy, and Top Male Soloist.
